First.

The Ediacaran was a period in earth's history some 630 million years ago. It is characterized as being at the end of a major glaciation stage and in which fossils of the first multi-celled but simple organisms with tissues have been found. On the last edges of the Ediacaran is the Cambrian stage of history, which was a bursting forth of new organisms that surpassed any before its time in terms of complexity and richness of life.

I chose Ediacaran to represent my blog name because I feel at a point in my life where I am in that sort of period before the "bursting" of new life. Meaning, I am in a rut, and hope to emerge from it as soon in all Cambrian-like glory. Plus, Ediacaran + Ann (middle name) = Ediacarann... works well enough.

I am definitely not much of a writer, but a blog may help me sort out things in a constructive manner, or so I have been told. I shall see.
